A wonderful lens then..... and a well balanced guyThe FD 300/2.8L is... I'm just the guy balancing it on the tripod!
Nice images, but ...Panasonic G1
ISO 800DeNoise5 NR applied.
Exactly:Nice images, but ...
This is why I've been waiting for something like the G3. I only hope that noise goes away at least up to 1600 ISO ...
I think you're being too optimistic about the IBIS at that long focal length. The longer the lens the less effective the IBIS is. It is, however, better than none, especially with our shorter focal length MF lenses....which will have IBIS. A Big + with Big Birtha, and my Nikkor 135mm f/2.8 Q.
If I gain a stop in ISO that's good, Yes, the 135mm should be better. and with 55mm micro Nikkor it will allow a lower ISO also at smaller f/stops in the f/11 - f/22 range for flower photography. So, it will have it's usefulness, depending on the lens used.I think you're being too optimistic about the IBIS at that long focal length. The longer the lens the less effective the IBIS is. Cheers,
So then it will be "Oly Semi-Pro-Guy" then?I am leaning towards the Oly Semi-Pro ../.. I'll be selling my M5
Quite.I think you're being too optimistic about the IBIS at that long focal length.
green: I live in Japan where the greens become overwhelming this time of year. Only trade off is with green comes the rainy season. In each of the images it was a down pour. I need an extra hand for my umbrella. Has any one ever seen a tripod mount umbrella? i thought it would be a great idea. One more thing, does it make sense that heavy rain would make my images 'soft'. I don't feel any of those are crisp and trying to figure out if its me and new focus system, new glass or the rain.Ian, don't ya just love the greens this time of year? It's like God made May just for photographers.
Someone on another site told me my crops and framing suck. ....
Me too. What city are you in? I'm in Nagoya.green: I live in Japan where the greens become overwhelming this time of year. Only trade off is with green comes the rainy season. crops: I would not use such harsh words but yes I agree that a looser frame suggesting some sort of scene is much better than the tight and center.
