M8 Leica M8, Upgraded: The camera has been upgraded and adjusted by Leica: new viewfinder lines and new shutter (additional $1270). It has had its red Leica dot replaced with a black one and has had its painted ‘M8’ lettering removed, so that it’s less conspicuously valuable (safer for street and travel photography). With a chrome lens it has the appearance of an older M camera (2d picture). It shows signs of use: two scrapes/dings indicated with red arrows in the rear and bottom pictures; also light scuffing from its case on its top plate. But functionally perfect. $2600. SN 3109xxx. Also the following lenses:
1. Zeiss Biogon 21mm f2.8, black, permanently 6-bit coded by DAG. $950. Voightlander external finders available, $95 (28mm for M8, or 21mm for M9). SN 15550xxx. Exc. cond., recent CLA by DAG.
2. Zeiss Biogon 28mm f2.8 ZM, black, permanently 6-bit coded by DAG and modified to bring up correct framelines on M8/9. SN 15540xxx. $800. Exc. cond.
3. Leitz Canada 35mm f2 Summicron, chrome, version 1: ‘Many users believe the Type 1 is the best non-aspherical version ever made’ (Antique & Classic Camera). This is a photographer’s, not a collector’s, lens – it has been permanently 6-bit coded by DAG. $1900. With hood (accidentally left out of picture). SN 2066xxx. One light scuff on barrel. Recent CLA by DAG.
4. Leitz Canada 35mm f1.4 pre-aspherical Summilux, black, ver. 2 (not coded because of construction of mount; but previous owner hand-coded it). $1900. With either the original hood, or a rectangular one modified for M8. SN 3192xxx. Exc. cond., recent CLA by DAG.
5. Leica Apo-Summicron 75mm f2, black (not coded because longer focal lengths don’t need it). $2450. SN 3986xxx. Exc. cond., recent CLA by DAG.
North American sale, please; Paypal 3%. I have UV/IR filters for most of the lenses.
