MY new Panasonic G9 will not display in the viewfinder, (rear LCD is ok and I can take a picture using it to frame a scene). It does this with all four of my lens. All four lens display in the viewfinder on my G85 body so its not the lens. Tried reset in the setup menu and cycling the V/mode button but no joy. Worked fine when first received in Dec 2019. Any ideas? Oh, and I got a "lens not attached properly" error message so I remounted it multiple times in case the contacts were dirty.
New information. If I close the rear LCD screen, the viewfinder works. If I open the rear LCD screen it goes black again. Cannot get both viewfinder & rear LCD screen to function simultaneously. I think I should be able to use both and have the rear LCD screen disable when my eye is up to the viewfinder and the viewfinder disable when my eye is not at the viewfinder (at least that's the way my G85 works). The viewfinder eye detection doesn't seem to be working.
Found it. The "eye sensor" parameter in the setup menu was not set to auto switch between viewfinder and rear LCD (I have no idea how it got that way). It's good to kill your own snakes but these things are getting way too complicated.
