I have been looking to down size from my D700 but not at a cost to IQ. The X1 is now available at my local camera shop (Ottawa Canada) and from what I have seen on this forum it could fit the bill. I understand the auto focus is slowish but manageable (possible software fix on the way?) and it has a limited focal lenght (I shoot prime anyway so not a concern for me).
Unfortunately none in stock to handle and test so a couple of basic questions to users.
1. Sounds like IQ is very good but on the computer screen everything looks great - how are prints in the A3 to A1 range?
2. I am a little confused as to what information appears on the rear screen and EVF when shooting - can one see f stop, aperature and ISO adjustments and focus real time? Is the information seen in the EVF the same as on the rear screen?
3. How effective is the EVF - I shoot alot in day light (with galsses) so not sure how good the rear screen is for focusing - a worth while albeit expensive addition?
4. Build quality good enough for backpack/bike use?
5. Any issues good or bad that one should should be aware of?
Many thanks for your answers in advance.
