Happy New Year to you also Darr and all my other friends on GetDPI.

We are having a cold snap (relatively speaking) here in Alaska to start off the new year. It will be below zero F at night for the next few days. I remember when minus 15F or lower was not uncommon at this time of year. Personally, I'm thankful for the milder winter temps.

This photo was taken 13 years ago when my part of Alaska still experienced very cold winter temps.

    Hi Gary,
Very nice image! I enjoy natural abstracts the most. The majority of my images are made with glass, light and stones.
Glad you are enjoying the milder winter temps. We had a very cold few weeks in north Florida recently.

    Take care!

You are so sweet! But, I do not think you would appreciate my mandolin playing at three in the morning! 🎶
I love looking at abstract art and playing around making it with lenses and light. Red Poppy was made with tiny colored gems.

We seem to work in a similar way. I use glass pieces to make my abstracts and I light paint once I get the shapes and the composition I want to give the type of color I'm looking for.

How good is your mandolin playing? If it's half way decent, 3am is fine. However, if it's not...

I am much better with my classical guitar! The mandolin is new to me this year.
I will be receiving some broken glass soon from a friend and hope to find some art there.
    Looking forward to it all!
