We have temporarily relocated from our home-base at Lake Como to a rented farm house between Asti and Alba in Piemonte, Northern Italy, for the “vendemmia” (grape harvest) and the “fiera del tartufo bianco” (white truffle fair).
Our 200 year old farm house is located on a ridge overlooking a patch work of vineyards and forests. Here are a few shots of the house and the views that are literally outside our front door:

This area of Northern Italy is known for its food and wines. Alba is the epicenter of the Barolo and Barbaresco wine growing regions and the home to white truffles (tartufo bianco). The annual truffle fair started last week and it goes on for well over a month, with artisan food vendors, and starting this weekend, an open-air truffle market.
