Friday night I took my friend Carla to shoot the milky way in the White Tank Campground in Joshua Tree. We got there well before dark and were the only ones there for a while. Gradually a few other photographers started showing up but it was still manageable. And then the rush came. A hoarde of people (15-20 en masse) all with cameras swarmed the place. It was awful but she had her shots so we left.

I also discovered though I kind of already knew my IQ180 was pretty useless for this even at ISO 3200 in sensor plus mode.
