I went to the Chapada Diamantina (literally diamond mountains) as they once mined them there, then they grew coffee there until the '50's.

don't you just love metadata in Lightroom...? I went there in February 2002 and shot these RAW's with a Fuji S2Pro, I remember not having enough 1gig memory cards (they were at least $100 ea back then) and as the short trip progressed I was editing down the cards every night tying to find space and eventually shooting large Jpegs. However most of these were shot in Raw, maybe the last few were Jpegs.

I'm close having an exhibition of these actually in Utah...!

Thanks for the compliment, I remember the trip well, it was early days with digital for me, i had bought a canon G2 and was blown away with what you could do with that thing at ISO50 in Raw, so I bought the S2 and it was wonderful, the shell on the main page was also shot with the S2 and a 50mmm 1.4, i have a print on my wall 1meter by 1meter after doing the rezzing up in GF and it looks unreal, people thing I shot it with a 500 hassy and the 120 macro planar...!

Although I shoot MFDB now I still have an S5 and love it

Those early days of digital were very innocent for all of us and a lot of fun, so glad I got on to RAW early on... :)

Best,

Steve
