My Z9 shipped with 2xFTZII and one extra battery. It should arrive today normally!

    Z9 ISO performance

Looking good, just 1/3 stop gap with D6 at ISO12,800. And that's with LR, results might be even better to DxO PL5 Deep Prime that is near 2 stops better than LR in terms of noise reduction.

How do the New Nikon Z lenses compare to the Sony G

There are certainly some nice lenses in the RF line up, but you need to spend a lot to get to those. The f1.8 S lenses in Nikon's line up are on par in terms of quality wide open, if not slightly better, compared to f1.2 lenses at f1.8 with Canon, but you pay half or 1/3 the price. So you have...

How do the New Nikon Z lenses compare to the Sony G

Another vote for Nikon S lenses. After many years with Nikon I bought a few years ago a Sony a9II and a7rIV. I didn't keep the a7rIV more than a year since I preferred the Z7 in most ways, but I kept the a9II thanks to its excellent AF. What convinced me to sell it in the end was the combined...

Which is the best software for Nikon files

Capture One as my main conversion software thanks to its best in class colors (proStandard profiles are superior to anything else I have seen), local adjustments,... and DxO for its ISO images thanks to deep prime (in a class of its own really).

    Z9

Yeah... right... Canon releases the R3 and the R1 would be around the corner... no way... The R1 is most probably a 2023 camera. By then the a1II will be shipping and the Z9II will be close to an development announcement...

    Z9

The problem with the extraction of frames from a video stream are: - the shutter speed needed for video is often very different from that needed for stills - the video stream uses time and color compression and the resulting image quality is significantly behind an optimally captured still...

    Z9

I have sold my D6 and Z6II and will order a Z9 tomorrow when ordering becomes possible in Japan. To me the Z9 is a no brainer: - fastest read out speed of any sensor demonstrates once for all that Nikon's engineering is on top of the mirrorless game - best AF performance ever with F mount super...

I intend to do the early adapter job for you guys! I will probably sell my Z6II and D6 to fund it. It should be a low cost operation.

    Fun with Nikon Images 2021

Thank you very much! These were captured 2 days after my Z7II and 105mm f2.8 S took a full dive in a river together with me. It still suffered damage with a cost of 650 US$, but kept working well enough to capture these. :-) Quite remarkable really. Cheers, Bernard
