Epson end their last high-end flatbed scanners

Hi,

it seems Epson is going to retire it's high-resolution large-format scanners.

I am trying to confirm a source with the video creator, I don't know him personally, so in the comment section.
I don't see the press release on Epson's USA's news page, but the author does have a close relation with Epson and Canon printer decisions.

I guess most of the world has moved onto repro scanning.

Except for labs which use vintage tools, incl. drum, frontier stations or Imacons ...

That's a real shame - with the rapid advances in AI (wrt imaging), I suspect there is going to be a resurgence in traditional, film-based & darkroom printed photography.

Maybe I can finally unload the Epson 700 and Microtek film scanners I have for more than shipping. I have not used them in ages, and I chose camera scanning instead.
