This came out when the Electronic Shutter was introduced on the IQ3 because the remote release units made to work with the XF camera use a 12 pin multi-connector while the IQ3 Digital Backs only accept an 8 pin connecter. This adapter ensures compatibility by plugging it into the 8 pin multi connecter port on the side of the IQ3 digital back, while the other end of the adapter accepts both 12 pin and 8 pin connecters.
It can also be used with the Phase Break out Box (BOB) , the Hahnel Remote Shutter Release for an XF accessory or the Phase One 645+ Electromagnetic Cable Release.
