Peaking works. Mass delete works. No live view in Phocus (mobile or desktop) Desktop Phocus says “Capture Failed”. Mobile Phocus 2 can capture.

Edit: Latest version of Phocus for the Mac works fine on tethering with no live view.

Thanks, Matt for reporting your experience as an early adopter. The new features look great although none are deal-breakers for me. The ability to tether, however, is. When desktop Phocus indicates "capture failed" is this a spurious message or did the capture actually fail?

Thanks for posting. I understand that live view histogram is also included in this update, correct?

Also can anyone explain what is meant by horizontal and vertical stabilization options? Does IBIS not already compensate for movements along these axes?

Capture failed. 🙁
Wow. That would make 2.0.0 a total non-starter for me, and I imagine for any product or studio photographer as well. I wonder who (or whether anyone) is beta testing for them?!?

I will sit this one out until the bugs and features list is better sorted.

I will try rebooting and, if necessary, reinstalling and get back to you. This was a VERY quick test.

Right. Hopefully this is just a quirk that can be resolved by re-booting and not a widespread problem although I did see a similar complaint on hassebladdigitalforums (although I have yet to replicate many similar complaints). Thanks.

Updating to latest version of Phocus fixed the problem. Tethering (no live view) works fine!

Lots of great additions! I am surprised specifically they added a live histogram. Hasselblad has been very stubborn in the past to not include it in their cameras. Just like Leica with the LENR (Long exp noise reduction switch off)

With the latest version of Phocus for Mac (3.7.3) I experienced a problem where, when exporting an image in TIFF format, the keystone corrections are not applied to the exported file.
I reported the issue to HB and they recommended that I stay with version 3.7.2.
Don't know whether it is a problem with my specific environment or whether it is a general issue of the 3.7.3 version.

I'm just reporting this here as I'm reading you all need the latest version in order to be compatible with the new firmware.

Nice, still for me, the more important part that does not need a HW update is not there: the ability to use some kind of shutter release.
But I will say the update brings a is a lot.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm currently using 3.7.2 without issue and am loathe to lose functionality from where I am now.

@MGrayson which version of Phocus were you updating from?

I went from 3.7.2 to 3.7.3. I do my keystone corrections in LR, so the Phocus bug won't stop me. Come to think of it, I seldom tether. I use Phocus for file import. Live view on the mobile version would be VERY handy, though.

The weird thing is, Phocus 3.7.3 has been around for a while so I'm surprised this issue hasn't surfaced previously. Hmmm. Perhaps I'll try updating Phocus first and testing its output, as it's easy enough to remove it and reinstall 3.7.2 if there's an issue. If no bugs then I'll go ahead and update the X2D firmware to 2.0.0. Or wait till the weekend before going down what may prove to be an endless rabbit hole...

I've routinely kept multiple versions of Phocus on my Macs for years. I don't uninstall the previous version before installing a new one. On the rare occasions there's a bug specific to a new version, I just quit and launch the previous version.

Same here. I just append the version number to the app to keep track of it and leave the old versions in my applications folder. Then I just install the new version. Seems to work fine on my Mac without creating any conflicts.

OK, I just updated to Phocus 3.7.3 on my M1 MacbookPro and the X2D to firmware version 2.0.0. Here are my initial observations from a *quick* test. Caveat: I did not reboot my computer after loading Phocus 3.7.3, so any quirks noted below may (or may not) disappear once I do.

- Remote operation with Phocus Mobile 2 and tethering with Phocus 3.7.3 both seem to work fine. However I noticed that when firing the shutter from the iPhone or computer, the camera won't revert to live view on the rear LCD afterwards (as it does when firing the shutter using the shutter button on the camera itself). I don't recall this happening with the previous firmware but wasn't really paying attention TBH. An annoyance given that there's still no live view on the phone or computer (smh).

- With both Phocus Mobile 2 and Phocus I could control most camera functions (ISO, WB, shooting mode, shutter speed, aperture, etc.) except for exposure compensation, which was greyed out. Smh, again. Exposure compensation could still be controlled from the camera, however.

- While tethering I got an error message about failure to capture (may have been after a focus bracketing sequence) but was unable to replicate this.

- The live view histogram is only visible in one of the live view screen modes (it disappears when I toggle to the view with framing lines or spirit levels, both of which I use routinely). Again, a minor annoyance.

- Focus bracketing only works when firing the shutter from the camera. When I fired the shutter from the computer, it only took a single shot.

- I only tested this on one image, but the edits made in Phocus 3.7.3 including keystone correction came through just fine when exported as a 16 bit tiff.

Bottom line: The interface for tethering to phone or computer is still a bit quirky so it's good to know the limits to avoid getting into any trouble when it matters. Otherwise, I haven't discovered any major deficiencies that would trip me up.
