Beautiful images, Steve. That really is a superb lens, and you're using it in a manner that clear demonstrates that fact.

Thanks Endre and Lloyd. That first one has a little story behind it. That is my wife Mina and her Dad Bob. He is now 50 and last year he had a massive stroke that pretty much disabled him to where he can never work again.

His vision is just about shot and his left side is very weak. He went from a 70 hour a week construction worker to barely being able to see and get around, but he is determined to work again one day and exercises daily. He took up cooking as a new hobby so we bought him the chef hat and apron for Fathers day when we visited Phoenix this week. He loved them.

    Thanks again.

that is too bad, but be optimistic! i have seen my father recuperating very nicely from a stroke earlier, at much older age. takes years...
back to the image, it is everyting one can expect from a Leica.

I can't help but smile a bit when I look at the following image. It seems like it might be a good illustration for a men's cautionary tale... with a sub-title something like "Don't Let This Happen to You!"

Lloyd - Steve; thanks for the kind words, I'm not sure whether I should be flattered that you can always 'spot a jono' . . . maybe it's just the mundane subjects

I love the schoolhouse shot - not so keen on the storm, but it's nicely done.

Simon - you'd better worry about that one, she is clearly going to be trouble, and already knows how to deal with her old man!

Hey Guys! (and Gals) Thanks for your comments. Yes, that Summilux 24 is one amazing lens. The price may buy you several wheelbarrows of lollipops, but once you start using it you soon find out it is not expensive

Well, of course, I could afford to buy several of them . . . but I think they're too big

Enjoy yours though, and I'll live with my little summarit.

    hi jaap,

the shot is nice, but, neither 1959 nor 2009 is right, 1964 would be correct

I am amazed at the volume and quality of the pictures posted here, and find it difficult at times to keep up. I guess I should just pick one forum rather than try and keep up with three. I just wish I had more time to get out and about and take more pictures.

Meanwhile, it is great to be able to come here and see such wonderful pictures, and this also acts as a good reference for the lenses that I and others may wish to purchase in the future.

Keep up the excellent work, it is appreciated even though that thought is not always communicated.

    Simon
