Fun stuff, Joe. I especially like that third shot.

Welcome back to the 21 Century! (Actually, I'm shooting a little film myself... just not developing it. I have 6 or 7 undeveloped rolls in the fridge right now. )

Beautiful portraits, Charles. Lovely shallow depth of field, with the sharp-to-soft transitions. Nicely composed as well. Your subject has very kind (and very beautiful) eyes.

I wonder if we'll be throwing out 42" inch plasma tv in 10-20 years time for even bigger or newer technology ones. Maybe even find a M9 in the same pile?

Re: The Very Latest & Greatest Fun w/Digital M Images

I kinda like the moire. It adds a lot of color to otherwise boring buildings. It looks better large - one of these days I have to learn to shoot for small size prints. I'm always thinking "mmmmm.. 40x50...."

And this is an accident. It's a small crop of an otherwise blurry and undistinguished shot. But the two guys on the sidewalk make a great combination. (And the ICP sign is a bonus!)

    Both M9/50 Summicron

    Thanks for looking,

    Matt

Charles: Beautiful portraits. Love the attitude and tone.
Jim: Nicely done portrait, also. Great tone.
Bill: Great pattern and color. You live in a very icy place!
Mike: Nice set of photos. I like the moment captured in the last.
Baudolino: Excellent compositions and color. The second is really stunning.
Henry: Both are very nice. Great use of DOF.
    Matt: I like the accident!

    Cheers, Matt

    Matt and Steve,

Thank you. It's humbling when accidental compositions are much more interesting than the intentional ones. For a few more months I can at least claim unfamiliarity with rangefinders as an excuse.

    Best,

    Matt

Re: The Very Latest & Greatest Fun w/Digital M Images

Guys thank you very much for your kind words. For future submissions, can somebody please advise me how to make the picture just the size for the page here? I used to attach pictures from my disk but they always showed in the clickable box which did not make much impact (and sometimes failed to open). Then I tried the other method, i.e. posting URL referring to the location of the images on my webpage. But this results in rather large images (I think this is what HenryFool tried to point out to me :-) sorry if the images are too big. Anyway, other than posting the images on my webpage in smaller format, is there a way to place them in the text in smaller size? Thx, Martin

baudolino I just link from my flickr page - my comment wasn't aimed at you alone! sometimes you open this page and wonder why there's a closeup shot of nostril hair until you realize its a 3600+ px wide portrait of somebody's nearest and dearest

Everything's bigger in America though, isn't it
