    Summicron R 90/2 vs APO Summicron R 90/2

For a particular project, I am trying to find a suitable 90/2 lens.

Those who know/used, could you please chime in on the differences between these two lenses- preferably how they work on a FF?

    Thanks in advance!

I've owned both. The ASPH is better in every way unless you want soft rendering for a particular reason. Even if you do want softer rendering for portraits, purple fringing from the non-asph summicron is MUCH more noticeable. Just blur in photoshop if you need a softer shot

    Case in point:

That is the ASPH in case you were wondering.

    Thanks a bunch, Daniel!

I am looking for the sharpest of the two.
