That is the new type . Please have a look to the two rubber inserts . They shall prevent a rotation .
My rework of the above shown QPL-1 for the STC body was successful .
It turns out to be very very stable .
I can not show an image yet , just because up to now , there was no time to take an image . I hope to do so tomorrow .
But as a short description , I have reworked the plate to have two little bolts , which fit into the holes on the STC body . Have a look to your ALPA viewer and how the viewer is attached to either ALPA model . Then you know what I mean . A slight difference for the "base" plate and the plate for the handgrip side .
I just got the STC and also bought a couple of the RRS BPNS-S plates for it. It's small and adjustable with a lip so that it can fit perfectly. The plate is slightly narrower than the STC 'body') and you certainly could mount the 2nd plate on the side of the grip, although I actually decided not to in the end. If you aren't shooting handheld much though it wouldn't be too much of an impediment as it is small.
Btw, you can't mount it opposite the grip because that's where the back slides out when you shift left. Unlike the Max which has all shifts within the body, the STC extends out on one side when shifted left although a right shift is accommodated since there is the grip on the right.
The MPR-73 is WAY, WAY too big for the STC.

Congratulations for your new ALPA , the STC . A great "little" camera .
Perhaps we should have an "STC club" . As far as I can see , there are already about eight forum members who are hopefully happy owners of that new ALPA .
Looking forward to show you my QRP solution with an image .
