Doug!

A couple of things.

First, the image with Carla at Arch Rock looks great!:) without a person in the image it looks great, too! From a perspective of scale, a human adds a dimensional quality to it and draws the eyes into the frame to see what is going on, as if to understand what she is looking at. Well done!:salute:

The other thing is... your other images! This was the first time I ventured into your gallery online. You have some amazing photos there and the effects are stunning. Apologies for never looking at them until now!

INSPIRATION

Today is the last day of 2018.

Another year gone, but what have I done? The answer was easier for 2017 when we were inspired by some notable professionals in the Medium Format community, namely this amazing photographer:

https://www.hasselblad.com/ambassadors/sails-chong/

This year, 2018, was filled with more opportunities to learn and yet, inspiration waxes and wanes like the cycles of the Moon. This year was definitely waning and while I awaited inspiration to visit me once again, I almost missed its subtle presentation to me. Rather than expanding our pro bono work with more clients, I am now focusing on our own little world and the challenges we face for 2019.

While I am still looking for my next photo essay project, it is inspiring to see the work posted here and the work of "Hasselblad Masters" as presented in the HB website.

People and landscapes where both are equally breath-taking... that is raising the bar very high. Maybe some smaller, simpler scale efforts of mine will be possible.

We shall soon see, that is, if the new year is kind and allows us the opportunity.

I like to shoot both. I tend to use my X1D for landscape work or field work and the GFX for people/portrait work (plus Macro especially with the focus stack feature)
