Great picture! And good to see how well FD lenses can work in this combination.

Looking forward to use some of my FD lenses on the M Mount.
Bought 4 adapters for it and the M mount is on its way from the US to Holland.
    Hope the customs are :sleep006:

Thank you all for your comments.

I took the GXR+A12M + CV Heliar 75.2.5 to a concert last night. It was ideal as I could stick it in my coat pocket. Quite pleased with the results, taken from about 4 rows back in the stalls. Cropped a little. Colour was fine, but I preferred the mono conversion.

Very nice, David. There are times when black and white carries much more depth and presence. That's why I am doing a lot more film stuff these days.

    Super! Nice work!

I got camera in at a circus show at Wynn in Vegas couple years back, after taking couple shots the goons came and told me to put it away. Glad you were able to get this nice shot without being ejected from the show! Was it just me with a 5D and a large zoom or is it like that everywhere?

Keith: love the simplicity and colours of that one.

Agnius: It depends on the venue organiser rules. At most events they may say no photography or recording allowed. In others they turn a blind eye to anyone with a point and shoot, but stop you using "pro" cameras. At this particular event, there was no announcement or notice about no photography. I however was still very discreet and only took the camera out a couple of times in the latter parts of the show as I didn't want to cause any upset, or get thrown out. My wife threatened to disown me if I did get in trouble.

There did not appear to be any press photographers at this event at all, and despite everyone having a cellphone with a camera built in, I saw almost no-one taking photos with them. The performer actually had a twitter feed displaying on a large screen at the interval where you could funny captions for a photo they displayed, so they seemed very relaxed about phones etc. Makes a nice change.

I wouldn't have tried to take my A900 + 135/1.8 to an event like that, it certainly would have caused a problem I'm sure.

The GXR is really discreet and quiet and with the EVF on, you don't disturb folks with a bright LCD.

If you really want to take photos it is best to try and get a photo pass, but that can be quite difficult unless you work for a newspaper or magazine (I don't).

I understand why they sometimes don't allow photography at live events - people using flash, people using bright live-view LCDs held up in front of others, loud DSLR mirror clacking etc. Not to mention copyright protection of the artist's work.

Yeah, there was an announcement of "no flash photography", and as I fired away with original 5D with 28-70 f2.8, they still stopped me. I guess like you were saying - if camera is too big, they don't want you taking shots. Maybe I could have gotten away with a GXR...

Thank you Keith. The lens was the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 C and all images were processed in RPP. I just started using RPP recently and have more to learn, but I like what I'm seeing so far.

I had the same feeling at first, but after you work with it awhile it gets easier. There is a thread in the RF forum that contains some valuable discussion about using RPP with the GXR. I think that Godfrey also might be more familiar with RPP.

No, these were mostly high ISO (2263 and 3200 for first two) in poor lighting so actually close to reality in appearance. Also, RPP tends to produce flat images which you can override by bumping contrast and saturation up but that can lead to noise and artifacts as well.

Good to know. I haven't played with RPP yet as I am pretty happy with Aperture color palette.

Hi all - just joined, here's a few shots from my first day with my new GXR. Loved the GR Digital I a few years back, but didn't like the image noise. Now with the M mount APS-C sensor and a Leica Summarit 35mm f/2.8 on the front, ... *WOW* ... this is 97% the perfect camera.

    Hi Imagearchive, Welcome!

You are lucky you have the M Mount. I am still waiting
    Nice photographs!

Today I thought I should make use of the GRX to get to know the camera a little better before the M mount arrives.
I tryed to do some shopwindows on my walk home from the studio with the P10 module. It is some work to make the best of it. The Jpeg's are quiet good straight out the camera, although I didn't use them. I am used to work on the files myself.

    Well here are some.

What can I say, other than WOW and . . . . what took you so long?

These colors are splendid, and have the Schierbeek touch all over them - don't lay down the little P10 when you get your m-mount. Which lens will you try first?

Re: Ricoh GXR - Show your images

Hi thanks Keith for the encouragement. Yeah I love colors although I should move a little to B&W with all the fog around here.
Have been a little apathic towards photography lately.

I think first will be the 15mm heliar and the 50/2 summicron.
When I get the adapters I am very curious to see the results of the 20/24/28/2.8 FD and the Minolta MD 20/2.8 etc. The wide lenses and see if they work well or if I need to buy one of the Zeiss Biogons 21 or 25. (would love too)

Sold about 20 lenses lately. Mostly the big and heavy ones

    Best, Michiel

    Some great photos!

Visiting family this holiday weekend and made just a few snaps... I fitted the A12 50mm for the trip and am again reminded how fine a camera this GXR is.

Re: Ricoh GXR - Show your images

Thank ya's kindly. Yesterday was an experience. I was very comfortable with the GXR's 30 seconds after setup. It's been almost 2 months and loving what I'm doing with them.

I was walking around the Occupy Philly and the Parade and the I noticed that there was a feeling of nothing mechanical in my hand. The camera at last was at one with me.
When I got home and loaded the images into LR, I realized that at at last I found my counterpart. I know, I know... I'm from the 60's ok...
Godfrey will get this....Keith might also.... Awwwww, if ya are with the GXR, you got it fer sure.

Just curious; did you try the 12m Voigtländer yet on your Ricoh?

Hi Streetshooter, very nice B&W photos there. Very good contrast. Good to know the A12 28 & 50 perform well. Hmmm, I may consider trying them out.

    Thanks.

Michiel - looking at my Lightroom catalog I see that I have not shot my CV 12 with the GXR, but I have images taken with my Sony C3 (now for sale)
Surprised me, I'll have to rectify that

    +1 Godfrey

First walk with the A12 M mount.

Feels nice to work with especially in the street. People don't feel disturbed so much by the size of the camera.
The lenses I used today seem to work fine.
I am going to love this thing, I think.

Nice long exposure shot! Gotta love the light streaks.

It is nice seeing CV 15mm work well without color shifts.

    Thank you Agnius.

First time, since my long gone Bessa 4RA, that I really feel I can use this lens again.

Re: Ricoh GXR - Show your images

Did some more walk around with the GXR. Really like it! The Leica R Elmarit 90mm is a little topheavy on it but the camera is quiet sturdy. It weights with the Leica Summicron 50 on only 40 grams less then the GH2 with kitlens.

Also assigned some lenses to my settings with a little help from a post on the Ricoh forum at DPR from Godfrey. Thanks for that!

    Michiel
