Can't you buy it with a full battery?

Congrats and I am curious about your findings. Wide angles?

Michiel, I did go with a fully charged battery. Bought a new SD card and left the shop ready.

Now for the impossible.. here is a cheerful news for you!

The advertised price for the kit is 949 Euros. Sony gives a 75 Euros cash back (active from tomorrow).

    How about that!

It will take a while before I can say anything about that, Tom. Camera is great (as I expected). The details need to be figured out, over time.

    Vivek,

Do you have any Sony flashes? I am curious to know if the onboard flash will trigger sony flashes. I am keen on 6 to use it as my general camera.

Hi, I only have the smallest ones and they can not be fired (now they can not be mount on the camera either, I have to find the new Sony adpter for them). However, I did check the flash function in the camera and yes there is wireless (WL) function.

So, I guess you are in good shape.

    Hi Jono, Thanks!

    The lens: http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/sony/4...iscussion.html

I will put that up for sale (going to be bargain priced) tomorrow when I make some pictures of it.

Congratulations, Vivek! Also, your early pics seem quite promising. Better than what I remember from my 5N and kit zoom. Those seemed to be more "flat" than what you ar egetting out of your NEX 6 and pancake zoom. Any comments?

Another capture using the C-V 15/4.5. I hope I did not mess it up in the post. Under our cloudy skies, it is a big challenge for any camera/lens combo. On the right hand side is the Dutch Parliament.

I have the same question and as far as I have been able to figure out, the onboard flash will NOT work as a wireless controller on either the 6 or the 7. You would need to use the HVL-20AM as the trigger. I'd love to get a definitive answer, though.

    Re: Fun with the NEX-6

Vivek, you own and shoot this camera, so obviously you know more, but I would like you to comment on what I think I am seeing. Your NEX 6 seems to be discriminating very clearly between the various lenses you have mounted on it, which is to the good. While I loved my 5N, I don't remember it doing this to that extent. Am I imagning things, or are you and/or others seeing the same?

    Re: Fun with the NEX-6

    Hi Philber,

Difficult to answer that question as the handling of the two cams are very different. Also, I only have Sony's RAW converter as of today. I expect my LR update tomorrow.

Here is a snap with 1930s Elmar which (the photo) reminds me of Elmar characteristics. The big chill is on already and it is very cloudy.

    Thanks, Mike.

It works well with the leveling indicator in the NEX-6. Also, the DR Summicron balances much better on the NEX-6 than the NEX-5N.

One of the ones available on eBay. You need a m4/3rd body to set the aperture and the focus. Transfer the lens to the adapter and shoot with it on a NEX-6. Here, it becomes a fixed aperture/fixed focus lens. Panasonic 20/1.7 is way too sharp for the NEX-6.

I wonder how the Panasonic 14/2.5 would work. That would give you a tiny 21mm wide angle on the NEX.

    Re: Fun with the NEX-6

All of them. Simply because I can use all the lenses (native/adapted).

I only sold or rather traded the 5 for an iPad. I am keeping the iPad.

The C3 does UV/Vis/IR for me.

The 5N and a few compact manual focus lenses are still for street.

The 7 with flashes (I bought a Phottix stratos set. So, it is still useful.).

The 6 is under evaluation. Might be useful for a few things for me, it looks like it.

Unlike the native lenses (all with IF), an unit focusing lens like the pen F macro shows no (uncorrectable to be exact) CA.

Vivek, I have to say those Pen F lenses look very interesting. I have wanted to shoot Olympus Zuiko lenses on my NEX for some time now but I have never gotten around to picking up any of the OM lenses yet. I might just have to look for these Pen F lenses instead.

Hi Vivek - interesting purple edges - something I've seen recently on another camera. The lovely CV 15 is obviously a tricky lens on digital!

    Hi,

You could also consider the OM Macro 50/3.5.

Indeed it is. Monochrome images are just fine.

vivek, very impressed with your penf collection! you are close to having just about every lens released in penf!

I only have one penf 40 1.4 lens. Love using it thoroughly. Let me know if you ever want to sell the 70mm f2.0 penf

If you find one let me know. I might be interested to buy it.

    Another night snap.

A shot with the same setup at 1/100s shows slight (motion) blur from hand holding. It is quite nippy here.
