A7r, A7r2 - and why I'm keeping both ...

So starting in early 2012 I have now assembled this collection of Sony APS-C and FF cameras.
NEX-5N, NEX-7, a6300, A7r, A7rII, and A9, all in great working order, so far no repairs were necessary.

We had recently a few hot days, but the last days were very pleasant again. The weather can also be quite different here.
These are some of the first shots I took with the NEX-5N about 5 and a half years ago in early February 2012.

Sony 12-24mm f/4, 122º Full-Frame Ultra-Ultrawide (2017-)

K.R. makes the point that IBIS works well for the image center.
But it can cause fuzzy corners and edges, although the lens itself is sharp in the corners as well.
He demonstrates that by holding his A9 camera less and more steady when shooting the 12-24/4 lens.

Seems perfectly fine to me ... :)
Thanks Bart. Seems fine to me as well.
Either hold the camera very steady, like in a church or museum, or use a tripod when possible.
I will wait a bit to see what real users have to say about the FE 12-24/4.

Aha! Excellent! You've ordered one already ?

:watch:
Nope Bart, I have not.
I'll wait and see what transpires.
I have a handful of UWA lenses already.
The Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Lens is higher on my wish list.
But, of course, with new exciting info I can always change my mind.
Though I expect both lenses to be in stock this summer.

I think I will wait on the 16-35 GM. I don't see a personal need for this lens beyond travel use.

Thanks Tre. Let's hope the 16-35 GM doesn't have any severe flaws.
I will just sit back and use the UWA and WA lenses I already have.

In particular the WATE 16-18-21/4 on TAP and the Batis 25/2 with AF have served me well. Then there is Choppy my CV 15/4.5 III M-mount, the CV 10/5.6 E-mount, the Nikkor 14-24/2.8, and the older Nikkor 28/1.4 with an hand ground aspherical element.

I just ordered an Opto-Sigma 5M PCX filter and will find out if it does anything positive for my other Leica WA lenses.

The widest lens I still currently own is the 25 Batis.
