So of you know that I badly scratch the M9 rear screen, although functional, it has the damn scratches.
Last day of a 15 day holidays, bought a screen and the moment I took it out, my all metal MP decided that was nice to fondle with the M9 screen.
Anyway... so I decided to email Leica, just to know how would be the replacement of the plastic screen - take pride in my stuff
Got this very very curious answer :
"Dear Mr. Proenca,
Many thanks for your inquiry.
I feel sorry to hear your story about your Leica M9 monitor. As we need to exchange the whole camera back please calculate about
750 €uro. In this matter I recommend to wait until October for two reasons. First of all I guess the meant time to repair will be
less then 3 weeks and second the photokina is over and you never know what is new.
Anyway I already attach the repair form sheet and info about our express and fast service.
In case of further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again.

I know that Leica is trying to output the max M9 they can but the situation seems to be stabilizing now... you can more or less easily get a M9 now, with just a few weeks waiting.
