New year´s eve means the usual compilation of news images from the soon-to-be-expired year, and today´s morning paper had an entire section.
But the one that really got me was the 2-page cover picture, by the Icelandic photographer Rakel Osk Sigurdadottir, of Iceland horses fleeing from the Eyafjallajökli volcano.
It is not just news, it is an incredibly beautiful image, and a very dramatic one as well. I haven´t seen it before, but it deserves to be seen by many!
(I haven´t managed to find a link that shows the image in a decent size, but here is an Icelandic paper that features it, and also shows other images from the same occasion. Reading the text is a challenge (it´s the way we talked in Sweden a thousand years ago...).
