I assume you pointed him to this section of the GetDPI forum to share his work ... when he noticed the camera on the table in front of me, and asked: "Is this an A9?"
Of course, I picked up my A9 with Batis 25 and took this one shot of him.
It turned out he is the proud owner of an a6000.

Well K-H, is it any good ? As good as the Zuiko 300/4 ?
Thanks Bart. If used appropriately, both theWell K-H, is it any good ? As good as the Zuiko 300/4 ?
Thanks Bart. As we all know the A7r.2 is a marvelous tool for stationary subjects.:thumbs: smashing shots, K-H !
But I've got an assignment for you: try the 'same' shots with that 100-400 lens and your A7RII ...
Just wondering how the pixel surplus plays out here.
:salute:
Makes you wonder if a firmware update to improve performance on A7RII is coming eventually for the 100-400. I know many that are holding off on the A9 until they see what comes of the A7iii (plus the variants) and the A9 variants. I'm really am hoping that we see a higher megapixel version (in the 16-24 megapixel range) of the A7sII with PDAF added in the A9s. This would likely be the "perfect" all around camera for me when high megapixel isn't needed.
Sony ILCE-9 + FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS + 1.4X Teleconverter @ ISO 1600, FOCAL LENGTH 560.0 mm (560.0 mm in 35mm), APERTURE f/8, EXPOSURE TIME 0.00063s (1/1600)
I find my a6300 works well with the FE 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G OSS.
That's a great match with a 135 film equivalent FOV of 450 mm focal length.
Both my A7r.2 and a6300 do excessive focus hunting in available light with the FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS and Teleconverters. :facesmack:
The Sony ILCE-9 doesn't seem to have such issues.
Maybe... It definitely isn't ideal for astrophotographers. I never run into the issue myself but it's a concern to see if they react progressively as they generally have in the recent past for high profile concerns. If there is a FW update, hopefully, sony will do away with their star eater "feature".
