This device will allow you to backup your memory cards out in the field, allowing you a second copy of everything you shoot. It is also a great accessory to have on extended shoots where you expect to shoot through more memory than you have cards, for example a holiday where you would rather not take a weighty notebook computer.

BTW, this device is not happy with DMR v1.3 formatted cards, it cannot see them. It is fine with Canon, Panasonic and M8 files.
