Fun with the GFX 50R

This MF camera is designed as a more portable form than the big brother 50S, it is fitting to show off new uses for MF cameras.

One observation is the dynamic range of the sensor, it goes back to my days processing B&W film, "expose for the highlights, develop for the shadows". I went out to the vineyards to capture the morning light as the sun rose. Cropped heavily into the image, processed in LR suppressed the highlights, opened the shadows.

Testing out my lenses on the 50R, 23, 45, 63 and 80 Summilux early morning in Yountville, CA. The plus side of an EVF is the ability to change the crop mode in the viewfinder and compose to the frame that is desired.

Thanks atanabe. Terrific lighting and colors.
Which image format did you use for your Leica 80mm lens? TIA.

Welcome Archie

Just a quick note. On the "Fun with---" threads usually camera/lens/settings are appreciated in addition to location. Thanks.

I finally did a fashion shoot with my GFX 50R, I wrote about it here https://www.engineroomcreative.com/under-the-hood/2019/2/4/fuji-gfx-50r-review-first-photoshoot

I shot everything with the 63mm f2.8 all @2.8 I decided to use the natural light after testing some flash out and used it between 640 & 800 ISO the results were quite pleasing, i was impressed.
It isn't the easiest camera body to handle but the rewards are clear. I added some grain in post as it sits in with my vision for the vibe of the story.
Here are a couple of shots.

GFX 50R + 63mm f/2.8 - ISO:640 1/125 f/2.8

GFX 50R + 63mm f/2.8 - ISO:800 1/125 f/2.8

Still learning to use my new GFX 50R and 23mm and 32-64mm lenses. This image made with a monopod and 32-64 at about f11. I really like this camera!

My wife and I went to Cape May for three days last week to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary (Feb 7). We stayed at our favorite Cape May hotel, Congress Hall. The weather did not cooperate at all. But I was determined to use my new medium format camera anyway (Fuji GFX 50R). My bad hip is getting worse, so I am using a cane, waiting for surgery to get a new hip. That prevents me from going on the beach, so I stayed on the boardwalk and did the best I could under the circumstances.
