Happy with X1D?

It's nice to have a "discrete" / "stealth" (mini)MF camera (not some monster where people stop and ask you what this is or how cute your old big camera is)
Yep, the XF get's lots of weird attention for example (What is that? Is that a Blackmagic camera? ....)
I wish phase would build a tiny LV only body (smaller than XT by a lot) with either no shutter for LS lenses or an FPS integrated.

Funnily, initially I wasn't interested by a smaller sensor camera (than my 2011! CFV-50 ccd with 500C/M), but when I saw a X1D 4116 (Black!) in some shop (used, but still under warranty), I couldn't resist, it's too "sleek" ;)
It was the first series (had to send it for repair because of "temperamental" release button and wheels etc... 'works great since). I love it.
It's nice to have an unobtrusive / "stealth" (mini)MF camera (not some monster where people stop and ask you what this is or how cute your old big camera is)

I'm eager for a successor with an IMX-461 sensor with an even better IQ. I would love to have usable auto-focus, maybe a joystick (to set focus/loupe point), a higher magnification (more than resolution) & faster EVF. 'Really hope they'll keep the same form factor (= would prefer no IBIS!), and release a black version!
But do I need a successor: not really ;)
I concur... The X1D is incredibly well designed. Also agree the 4116 edition looks even better.. I am pretty sure the next X1D is going to be a super exotic one..

Testing times for a lot of brands with the GFX pushing everybody to their limits

LOL! ... even with the 500C/M I often got "is that a movie camera"? 'likely the elongated shape!?...
(ok it's mostly from drunks or crazy people; then you have film nerds: "cool old film camera" - me:"no, it's with a digital back", then more embarrassing; you have people/photographers who know how impractical and expensive this setup is! ;) )

XT isn't it already quite small?
'hope Hasselblad will do ~the same mirrorless-ification for the H line...

I hope Hasselblad will keep its H line alive so that it won't leave PhaseOne as the only "real"/"full-frame" digital MF (53x40mm) "supplier" (that would be unhealthy for the high end photographic market)
e.g. they could make a H7 with the same form factor as the H6 but with no mirror and a (giant) EVF (in place of the OVF), 'would be cool and unique! no? (ok, but then you're loosing the mirrorless is smaller advantage...)
At the "lower" end (44x33mm), it's difficult to compete with Fuji, at least price-wise (and HB should / can not do that). Thanks god there are people like me who buy a camera for it's look ;)

Yeah, I got the "is that a video camera" response a lot with the 500 C/M and especially with the 503CW+winder. I really like my first generation X1D. I don't really feel like upgrading to the X1D II. I'm sure it's faster and more convenient, but I'm really waiting for the next-generation sensor to upgrade. The new CFV back, however, is really appealing.

I'd have to give serious thought to a full-frame mirrorless H7. It seems like it would be the best of both worlds.

Nooo! If an H7 appeared, it better be with OVF...EVF is useless for what I do!

On the note of drunken fools and "video cameras", I had an idiot dance, make faces, sing, and carry on in front of my Contax 645 while on tripod at an air show for about 10 seconds. After he finished, I took a shot of him and said "thanks". He asked me "for what" to which I responded, "that was the perfect shot for my project...needed a poster child for abortion". He blinked, obviously confused, and walked off. The dozen people around me all started laughing.

...
or they could provide a hybrid VF solution: leave the mirror + OVF but make a live view mode where (the mirror is released and) the live view image is displayed on the VF (instead of on the back) ! 'Don't know how easy it's to have an OVF with a superimposed "electronic" image (this exists on some camera), but it would be cool to have the choice between OVF & EVF!

I hope Hassy comes out at some point with an updated sensor for phase detection AF. Higher resolution isn't that important for me, but I guess it will be inevitable. This and hopefully IBIS. Both extending the praticality of this great system.
