What I particularly like about this new series is that they got rid of that hideous chrome rim.
I agree and the performance of the Voigtlander lenses since the 35/1.2 Nokton II has been excellent across the board in general.

Did you see this new E-mount lens ?

PORTRAIT HELIAR 75mm F1.8 E-mount
Mid-telephoto large-aperture lens with spherical aberration correction ring. A wide range of expression is possible with this lens, from under-collection like a soft-focus lens to over-collection where the back blur becomes contour blur.Find your preferred rendition by using the aperture ring and control ring combination.

I actually did see a YouTube video on it. Seems moderately interesting. I already have the 75/1.5 and now the 90/2 APO… now if they did a 55mm and 100mm version in a M-mount… I’d probably give some money away.

Very unlikely they will do 55mm or 100mm in M-Mount, no M cameras with corresponding frame lines.

You don't need frame lines when you have Live View and can fit an EVF accessory finder for absolutely perfect framing and focusing.

They have a 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, and 40mm and there are no frame lines in modern M cameras. So there’s distant hope.
True but those are mostly wide angles that they sell finders for other than the 40mm for which Voigtlander (Bessa), Minolta and now Pixii offer frame lines.

That being said if you comfortable with an EVF and an adapter, Voigtlander do make some beautiful lenses in Nikon F mount that are worth exploring.

Yes I’m aware and yes I have a Visoflex 2 as a backup for my wider lenses. I’m just trying to get away from adapters when not necessary. So yeah I wouldn’t mind if Voigtlander decided to go away from the norm. Similar to how companies like Zeiss have the 85mm or Meyer Optik made a few lenses without the traditional frame lines as well. Also… I hate that Nikon lenses function the “wrong” way and yes that’s a deal breaker for me. Always has and a huge reason why I never bother with Nikon cameras beyond handling in stores.

Four new lenses coming in M-mount.

The new lenses (35/1.2 IV, 40/1.2 II, 50/1.2 II) coming in May (scheduled for release), but no news yet regarding the APO 28/2.0

I shoot only Leica film (M4-P) and I'm fine when the focal length and frame lines don't match up: makes for an interesting surprise when I develop the film. :)
