Hi,

Let's start early this time. The teasers are starting, here is one:

Next week Adorama and B&H will be back, so maybe preorders are going to start sooner rather than later.

Best regards,

Hi,
General photography.
This one is also prety good:

Nikon depends on Sony, so I get the price is as good as they probably could get it, but if they were able to push it to $2000 it would be a total winner and
allow Nikon to win some market share. As it stands it's a fantastic value, but not a killer implementation.

Nikon continues to move, using what it can get in a very interesting and impactful way.

Best regards.

Here in Switzerland the Z6 iii is listed for CHF 3000, the Z8 is presently CHF 3400. At a first glance, the Z6 iii pricing looks a little steep. ZF is 2300, IIRC.

Hi,

This one is very good, comparing the Z6 iii AF vs the Z8 /Z9 for birds.
The Z8 is better, as expected in particular when the birds are small in the viewfinder since it has more points and a higher refresh rate.
I wonder what the successors of the Z8 and Z9 will be able to achieve.

High ISO performance continues to be a staple of Nikon's 24 megapixel sensors.

Best regards,

I'm sure we'll see a rapid drop in price once sales start - online offers already list prices ≈ CHF 2800.-

Jan gives some of the best reviews for wildlife photographers - his honesty is refreshing in contrast to fan boy influencer hype.

I must say I really like this new Z6III (y)

For my taste 24MP are still plenty in 2024 and the benefits in combination with latest processing technologies and class leading fast AF and superb EVF are the strongest buy arguments for this camera!

I agree,
The issue is that the price is off, the Canon R6 is 1999$ on the street, since Nikon is the underdog they should be below not above in terms of price.
Looks like a missing opportunity to gain a little market share. As I said, maybe Sony is charging them an arm and a leg for the sensor.
Best regards.

Hi,
This one is very nice, a lot of wildlife photography tips. Nice pictures, how the camera performs, and how to use it to get more.
The unlimited buffer is quite something.

Best regars,

I've been toying with FF for some time now and have just pulled the trigger on a Z6iii at £1999 including VAT,
official UK stock (y).

All I need now (to use it) is ....... a lens ..... a CFExpress card and a CFExpress card reader :D.

What is the forum's wisdom on the latter two items please?

Have fun with your new toy - only had a brief opportunity to hold one in my hands - very impressed with the IBIS - rock solid!

WE use SanDisk CF cards and a Delkin reader.....happy so far.

Thanks Swissblad,
I use Sandisk SD cards in my Micro Four Thirds outfit and have never had a problem with them,
but I hear that Sandisk quality has gone downhill recently, or is that just ‘net gossip?
Sandisk CFExpress cards certainly seem good value.

An interesting read - thanks;
although it doesn’t mention reliability ( except in one case where he suffered a total failure) .
