While I was in Hawaii this June, I was photographing a lava tube near the ocean. Both the camera and I were sprayed by a wave. I sent the camera to Fuji as soon as I got back home for a check and clean. I've had it back since June and used it multiple times with no issues whatsoever.
Here are the notes from the Fuji service:
• Overall check and clean.
• Residue on the hot shoe.
• Replace top construction and construction of the eyepiece.
I believe the top construction they are referring to is the hot shoe.
Now that I am selling it, I just noticed that the internal hot shoe cover is missing. I just talked with Fuji and they are sending a tag so I can ship the camera to them and have them replace it. You'll notice the hot shoe in these images is silver, the internal hot shoe cover is some sort of thin black piece that covers up the silver construction of the hot shoe. Not really a big deal, my radio slaves work just fine as it is, but the little black plastic hot shoe cover that comes with the camera doesn't fit snugly like it should since the internal hot shoe cover is missing.
This ocean spray incident is reflected in the price. This is a chance to own a very clean copy, no scratches or scrapes, perfectly functioning GFX 100S for a very good price. It has been checked and cleaned by Fuji and returned to me with a clean bill of health.
