The acuity is something to behold. I’ve owned the Nikon 600mm f4 as well as the Nikon 500mm f4, but this lens is much sharper with a huge improvement in contrast

This species is found almost exclusively in California's oak woodlands. The bird's range extends barely into southern Oregon and also into northern Baja California. A similar bird, the Ladder-backed Woodpecker, is found in North America's desert southwest from southeast California to Texas.
