This is the ship we were on for our last cruise two years ago to the Maritimes, image below of ship in Newfoundland. Nice ship, but not so great memories of contracting COVID and being quarantined. When we finished the cruise in Quebec City we had to hire a limo to drive us to the nearest US airport in northern Maine so we could fly back home. We had not completed a 10 day isolation period so we were not allowed to fly from a Canadian airport.

Yes, Covid did shake the world. Hoping you still carry some fond memories of your cruise too, Carl.
All the best.

Yes indeed Bart. Despite the COVID incident we did have some enjoyable experiences during the cruise.

Nice photo Bart, and quite empty on sunday morning!

Did you buy a new lens?
Hi there, Pieter.

Thanks and yes very quiet only a few people around who I managed to keep out of the frame: be patient is my motto !
The lens is a new to me second-hand - by your recommendation - from MPB ... ;)

Pretty pleased with this tiny 'excellent' UWA-lens including box, pouch and paperwork: all in good nick.
Focusing by RF (OVF) and then using LV (LCD) for framing and 'perspective control'.
Amazingly (and luckily) I manage this without my reading glasses.
As long as my eyes allow for it of course ... :geek:

Kind regards.

Congrats Bart, from what I can see here it's an excellent lens, but also in good hands. I've come to appreciate the 20/21 mm focal length more, even so much that I like it much better than the "standard" WA 24 mm length.

A couple of weeks back, I acquired a very nice 1946 Leica IIIc body and have been enjoying using it quite a lot. :D
My Voigtländer Color-Skopar 28/3.5 and 50/2.5 lenses are a beautiful match to it.

Boiler Room - Santa Clara 2024
Leica IIIc + Color-Skopar 28mm f/3.5
Fujifilm ACROS 100

Here's the camera with the 28mm lens fitted:

Congrats Godfrey, camera looks in a nice conditions and nothing to complain about the results either.
I learned photography with a IIIf and an Elmar 50/3.5, still have the lens but the camera was exchanged for an M2 in the late '70's. But I've been thinking that if I find a nice one (IIIc or IIIf) I might fall for it, allthough I still use and cherish the M2 I got in its place.

Thank you! I had IIc, IIf, and IIIf way back when ... all gone over the course of years ... and have had various Ms since the late '70s. Never thought I'd get back into a Barnak again, but something about this camera spoke to me, I bought it because I had a few LTM lenses (Elmar 50/3.5, the Color-Skopars, and the Pentax 43). I find myself enjoying it a great deal! There's something about its size and simplicity, and the pointedly fine quality of its build, that just appeals to me a great deal.

Funny how a specific camera can inspire us. :)
