UV filter protection

That kind of impact will most likely damage other parts of the lens and camera. Get real.
I mean yes probably, it's marketing demonstration.
This is a bit rude IMO. I don't think anyone was thinking it would. Dropping a lens probably de-centers it regardless of a UV filter anyway.

For falls and drops, a good lens hood offers way more protection than a UV filter. I know this from empirical experience. :(
