Dear Bob,

I used to have one. This is an extraordinairy piece of craftmanship: I wish you good luck in your search.

I also used to have a complete set of Dr. Gilde 617 camera with 72XL lens. I gave them to a friend who insisted on buying them from me. Now it's extremely difficult to find one as many years ago Dr. Gilde only made 5 to 6 sets a year. I had exchanged several emails with Dr. Gilde. He handmade a sliding back for digital back stitching, but as far as I know it had never been commercialized.

Bob,

I found an email Dr. Gilde sent to me about 10 years ago. He told me he had retired and sold his business to Mr. Kaehlig when I asked him if he could get a 180mm lens for me. Maybe you can try to contact Mr. Kaehlig (see his email as below) if he still has a set for you.

Good luck!

the new company develops the new camera and alo of new equipment and don't be afraid, you will get a 180 mm lens. Please ask the new owner
Mr. Matthias Kaehlig. His e-mail address : [email protected]
Mr. Kaehlig can give you more informations. In the future, I am shure, Mr. Kaehlig and Jeff Badger come together.
Best regards
Kurt Gilde

August 2021... I am still looking. I still need your help!

All this help... WOW! This feels like a treasure hunt for the Dr. Gilde 66-17 MST super 3D camera. The clues keep coming! I still need more!

Thanks for your help. I will follow your leads and hopefully it will lead me to the Dr. Gilde 66-17 MST super 3D camera.

I do understand there are several Photographers who are retired and not using their Dr. Gilde 66-17 MST super 3D camera. It is my hope that this thread will reach them. Hopefully one of them with a Dr. Gilde 66-17 MST super 3D camera will want to see their Dr. Gilde 66-17 MST super 3D camera back in use and contact me.

I would be willing to meet for an in person exchange anywhere in the world. This would be fun! Having the opportunity to meet the person who owned the Dr. Gilde 66-17 Super 3D system would mean a lot to me. The Dr. Gilde 66-17 Super 3D is a rare camera and learning about the owners uses would be an honor!

Respectfully,
Bob
