AFAIU, only a handful of those lenses have ever been made for scientific purposes.

Yes , indeed , only very few UV-SONNARS were produced .
As per Richard Nordins HASSELBALD COMPENDIUM there were two types . An UV-SONNAR C , 76 lenses produced between 1982 and 1994 .
And then , there was an UV-SONNAR CF , 92 lenses produced . Figures are not a 100% sure .
The initial price for this scientific purpose lens was 6350 $ .
I have never seen one in reality and I do not know a person , who owns one .
