Just missed another one after months, perhaps years of searching.

Also looking for a 120 ASPH. I have a 60XL and a 150 N I can trade.

There never was a 100 ASPH FYI - just an apo digitar 100; the ASPH was announced, but was never produced in the end. Reason I mention it is because I had searched for the 100 ASPH version too for quite some time until I was told by Greiner that it was never sold actually.

There's only the legendary 120 ASPH. After that they quite digital lenses. Unfortunately. I suppose the 100 APO DIGITAR is also a great lens though!

Nowhere near as good as the 120 ASPH..... I own both. The 120 ASPH is alone in the stratosphere of great lenses. Not as sharp as the Float but has a quality that is extremely pleasing. The focal length is near enough to the Float that for very light excursions it could take its place. A three 'light' lens combo for me would be the 72, 120, 180. That covers a lot of FL.

Sorry.... a bit off topic.

138 - which I also own, as you know. Goes without saying that this lens is in a different universe when others are compared to it.

You guys and your float. There was a used one on CI’s site that I would talk myself out of every few days.

Reminds me of this site a few years back with the teasing about Dante’s Inferno. And yet there are many folks whose opinion I respect, and who know their legacy Schneider glass, that own it and love it. I’m not sure I could ever afford it, but a 138 SB on an Alpa must be something to behold. Maybe in my next life!

I would love to see a shootout of the SK 120 asph, 150, 180, 210, and the Rodie 138. Curious to see how moving to the same FOV compares with them all.

Well it is not really comparable as the SK120 has a lot shorter FFD while the 138 is a real monster in terms of weight, extension required.

Essentially, if you have it in short barrel, the SK120 is just another little lens that weighs next to nothing to be carried along while the 138 requires a sturdy tripod, head, a lot of care in the field.

Both have advantages, but the SK120 ASPH is truly fantastic lens especially in relation to its size and weight difficult to beat. You can take it easily on a hike alongside the 60 XL and you are good!

The 138 is a whole operation to use when attaching all the extensions and every time I hand hold it I am super concerned with not dropping it ...
