XCD 45p manual focus issues

Hi.
When turning the focus ring slowly in one direction and changing the direction to find a the right focus point, Sometimes I can turn the ring but the lens doesn’t move. In this case I have to turn it faster or change the direction again.

So slowly turning left and right for a exact focus is not possible.

How are others 45p lenses?

Thanks.

I used to have a similar problem with the 45P when the camera woke up from sleep. Hasselblad acknowledged the problem via an email and it was fixed in lens firmware 0.1.26. The fix wasn't listed amongst the changes due to the new firmware. The latest firmware for camera and lens is:

X1D 1.2.50
X1D II 1.4.0
XCD 45P 0.1.26

In my case the problem would show after wake up when you tried to manually focus the lens against gravity. Point the lens down and you could rack the lens out but not in, point up and you could rack the lens in but not out. The problem would go away with a restart but would return again after sleep.

Hope this help. Bob.

Hi Bob.
I have the latest firmware on the lens and on the back.

What I tried was: setting the focus to the closest, so the lens moves out! Then pointing down an slowly turning to the left to bring the focus closer.
If I am turning very slow it is doing nothing, I can feel some harsh "rub".
I have to turn very fast to bring up the focus. But then it is not possible to focus exactly.

Greetings, Mario
