intense debate is very slow to login, and has been the last several times I've tried - annoying. But anyway, I have the WX1, which also uses the xmor processor and I love it. The thing is, it's not clear to me that the sensor itself is that much better. The great low-light comes from stacking multiple photos, but couldn't you just as easily do that with a CCD? The wx1 has similar noise levels to other compacts I've tried.

    That's a fine camera!
I read that it has a shorter macro distance than the HX5 but don't know how important the difference is for real pictures?
I'm looking forward for the first comparisons of the two cameras and if the HX5's bigger lens makes any difference.

They look very good. Since I could by the camera this week I would be interested to see some 50% and 100% crops, if possible. Thanks in advance!

Looks damned good to me... I've already said that Sony is the one to watch - if this sensor was scaled up to produce an EVIL cam - watch out

Thanks for sharing - I'd like to see some full size images if anyone has a pointer.

    Cheers

Good question. As for mobile phones (and not wanting to spend too much on a whim) I skipped the iPhone and went for a much cheaper Nokia version with touch screen just to see if I got on with it.
The result is: I wouldn't go back to one with buttons.
So I'm really keen to know the answer for this camera too but I'd still be favourably biased towards it even without this answer from "Hot".
Apart from extra screen real-estate I think once you get used to it it's quicker to operate, at least that's my impression with just a phone.

    Hot, Nice photo report!

While I am quite impressed with these, I am disappointed that it is a jpg camera.

Is there any camera with the EXMOR-R sensor that can deliver RAW or least Tiff?

[If there is, I will buy one and convert it for UV and IR. ]

Am looking forward to your report. A pity that the FH 100 does not have a more exceptional lens, such as e. g. the new Samsung EX1 with a 24 - 72 f1,8 - f2,4 (particularly f2.4 @ 72mm equiv sets it apart from the rest). Though the latter has still the last generation sensor - we just can't have it all, it seems
