Fun with Nikon Images 2022

EDITED FOR CLARITY: Despite having the option of optical perfection with a number of my other Z lenses the little 40mm f/2 lens is very different and fast becoming my favourite. It is exactly what I was hoping for, compact, lightweight and characterful.

EDIT: Apologies, on rereading my post above it seemed to suggest that I considered the Z 40mm f/2 to deliver optical perfection. Nothing could be further from the truth which is the reason I love it so and have now edited the post.

I must read what it is I type

Early in the morning. Jupiter passed Venus earlier this month and will be passing Neptune on its way to passing Mars on April 30. Mercury will be joining in the party around June 13, give or take.

Swamped at work, so I do not have much time for the "hobby." Grabbed the Z50 kit for a few quick snaps in a local park:

Nikon Z50, Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR @ 45mm (67.5mm equiv.), 1/60 sec, f/6, ISO 100, VR On (Green Spring Gardens, May 2022)

Sergtum, on your Flickr photo stream, you have this nice winter-street view with an old Russian wooden house to the right.
Whenever (or sometimes...) you pass by such antic wooden house, please share it with us.
They are so wonderful and reminds me of the melancholic mood from Doctor Zivago and novels from Dostojevskij

Thorkil, many thanks, really appreciated!

I'm having such fun with this little 40mm lens, just ideal for using in locations such as camera phobic Morocco.

thank you so much for your feedback. I will try to photograph such houses more often.

Well, gave the eclipse a shot with the Z9. Wasn’t satisfied with the iso/shutter combos I was getting with the 70-200 2.8S and 2xTC, so I took the TC off and went for wide open at 2.8……and remembered about the star tracker in the closet after I closed up shop *facepalm*. Still fun though.C696356C-97C9-47DA-8431-C0E6901274E3.jpeg
