First real shoot with the MM. Very large wedding with a non-stop 11 hour shoot schedule
More importantly, first shoot with both of my eyes fixed (severe cataracts removed and Toric lenses implanted to correct astigmatism). My favorite camera of all time, the M camera, is back in the game
big time.
High end wedding where I used the MM for about 600 available light images. Used a range of ISOs at will depending on ambient conditions. Mostly in the 2000-3200 range in darker situations ... rarely below 1000. Used the S2 otherwise. Used a 21/1,4ASPH, 35/1.4ASPH, 50/1.4ASPH and a few shots with a 90/2.8
The reception speeches are usually in such dark conditions that flash is required ... no so with the MM.
Great camera ... a classic M experience harkening back to when I only shot B&W film in any M camera. I was a bit worried about the less than stellar M9 LCD, which was a non-issue with the MM, especially in quick candid situations.
No filters employed. Wouldn't have time to fuss with filters on a shoot like this anyway. Didn't miss them either. Nik Silver effects has so many selections and combinations that I got the tonal seperations I wanted in almost every case.
Hard to see the qualities in sub one meg web uploads, but the prints are nothing short of spectacular.
