How about more and more fun with Canon...

Was at the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert in San Francisco last night. That 55-200 mm zoom worked well, and the pancake 22mm.

M6 Mark II. Some cropping in some shots.

The conductor has been doing this concert now for years.

A friend of mine wants to replace his Canon 70-200 with the new Z-model. Price is nice, size is fantastic and it comes with a 3,000 clicks EOS R mounted at the rear end. Testing it now, and the R is a much better stills camera than I had expected. I might actually go for this and sell some of my MFT gear.

Still testing. There's a very SLR-like feeling to this camera. I was passing a local race circuit today, with some international Go Kart race going on. Here's one taken before I could figure out the burst mode. Focus was great though. Heavily cropped.

Testing out a Zeiss Otus 55/1.4 APO Distagon I picked up recently (pre-owned, mint condition) in the Canon ZE mount. Very happy with the results on my 5DSr. I'm also going to use the lens on my R5 and try it on the Leica SL2/Panasonic S1R (with the Sigma EF to L-mount adapter). I expect it will be a easier to obtain critical focus on the mirrorless cameras, but so far I've had pretty good hit rate with the DSLR.

I've made 11x17 and 13x19 inch prints and look forward to making a few 17x25 inch prints of some test images in the days to come.

Recently I've been thinking about the years since I became a member on GetDPI in 2008; how GetDPI, myself and others have changed since then.

While looking at the photos on this "How about more and more fun with Canon" thread I noted it was started by Don Weston in May 2008, the very year I joined GetDPI, more than 17 years ago.

If I'm correct, Don's last post on GetDPI was on June 18, 2013 noting he had purchased a very clean and used Canon 1D Mark III. Don posted/shared images from 2007 to 2013 on both the Canon and Nikon forums.

Although I haven't done alot to contribute to this thread, my thanks to Don for starting it.
