Leica Service

Your expereince mirrors mine with Leica service. Absolutely useless and unfortunately makes buying their very tempting M10 a real risk in my eyes.

Another update: some may recall my bitching and moaning about the eight months my original 280/4 APO spent not being repaired at Leica Wetzlar for lack of parts only to return with a smashed rear cap. As suggested here, I sent this lens to DAG in late May. Today I received an e-mail from him describing the repairs and oh BTW the cost is (a very reasonable) $xxx. It took me less than five minutes to send the funds. Parts needed? Three screws.

Well Leica service is non-existent here. But available from Dubai. Last time I courier shipped to Germany, my cost. They shipped it back DHL ( obviously ) normal package post!!!.

More to the point..Omeprozole and its side effects. I don't bother asking my GP. They are general practitioners after all. I, fortunately, have access to senior consultants..they happen to be my childhood friends.

Each medication has side effects..common, mild, severe, dangerous, fatal etc. Furthermore the contraindicated symptoms are common and or/rare ( with various categories in between ).

Side effects also vary by individual. Existing disease or already present underlying symptom.

Low magnesium levels are one contraindication ( there are many others; even with Tylenol..the normal one; not the one with codeine called Tylenol 3, prescription only ).

So, a doctor is the best person to evaluate and make a judgement call on which medication is best for one and weigh the risks/reward benefits. And just like an experienced stock market trader, a good doctor always keeps an eye on his/her patient's risk levels. I see a doctor to tell him/her what I feel/experience. Not to tell him what electrolyte and chemical levels he/she should look for. I did not tell my cardiac surgeon whether I needed CABG or a simple angioplasty!!

Do not take medical advice from the internet. Medical literature is geared mostly towards the professionals with a ' getting started ' section ' for laypersons. Most will recommend ' seek immediate medical attention ' if you fart!
Normal with some medications too!! Serious.

I always thought that I have to cut my own arteries and make my bypass! Good to know there are specialists available!

Ok, so I've complained in the past so what I like to do is give props when I can..
Had a issue with my SL, randomly the shutter failed. Leica Singapore fixed it in 4 business days FOC and it's as good as new.

Would also like to mention that the new firmware made the 50luxSL so much more usable that I'm actually enjoying it. Also the 75SL is pretty fun and I regret not buying the 90SL when I had the chance (dealer doesn't have any at the moment). Anyway 75SL is working like a champ and Leica SL repairs seem to be smooth and fast.. Otherwise I haven't had issues with my SL at all, been a solid cam though I don't use it as often as I should (but that's more personal opinions and not service related). Waiting now for the 35 and 50 cron-SL lenses.
