Not as far as I know Vivek - but it's fine to take it out and shoot it in the rain - I know this, because 1. they say it is and 2. I've done it.Is there an underwater housing for the Leica M?

Yup, a lot different than the stationary garden gnome that the tester was focusing on.Lol. Or kick the dog in the ***. I have a puppy here that's a perfect candidate too. Little pissing machine here. Lol
The A7II likely has the same sensor as the A7 and thus the same base ISO dynamic range, which is very close to the RX1. Here is a low and high ISO comparison I did between the A7r, A7, and A7s - look at the ISO 100 -5EV for a comparison of base ISO DR/shadow pushing:Curious for all you A7ii owners… How many stops are recoverable if you underexpose?
I'm still trying to suss this out on my A7s -- which is definitely less than the RX1, a surprise to me… I didn't know if the A7ii sensor was closer to the RX1 (excuse my ignorance but they're both 24MP) than the A7s in this regard?
will try it out though from using it on the A7s I find the profile In lr5 over corrects for vignetting so I have made a preset that compensates for thisQuestion for David (or anyone that it applies to):
How does CV12/5.6 behave with the A7 II (with the LR profile applied)? TIA.
That's a bit of a red herring Vivek:Jono, if you believe in the saying, "what you don't know does not hurt you" then yes, Leica Ms are weather sealed. The BG filter/cover glass deteriorates with moisture.
No it doesn't - I radically disagree - As far as I can see personally The E-M1 and the Pentax K3/5/7 are unlimited in terms of rain usage . . . at least: - 9 hours in pouring rain is all I can manage, so in those terms the E-M1 has unlimited weather sealing . . . at one point on that particular walk the camera had turned upright against my jacket and there was a small pond in the lens hood - still no condensation / ingress etc. and 10 months later both camera and lens are behaving immaculately (having had several other good soakings since).Like Monza correctly pointed out this weather sealing has its limits and i try to play within those limits.

12/5.6 version 1 at 5.6 focus 3m, iso 1/100. Raw covered with Adobe DNG convertor into Lr5, Voigtlander profile with vignetting set to 44. tone curve medium, custom sharpening preset and tone curve to mediumQuestion for David (or anyone that it applies to):

hi Davidprofile performs well for corner shading. I find less smearing with the A7s
Monday is a big strike day here, but I'll get it out on Tuesday… Inquiring minds want to know!hi David
thank you! that's what I would have expected. I didn't expect the A7ii to play differently with M lenses. I'm still getting smeary corners with the 35FLE and the 35 'cron (although that might be the fault of my Metabones adapter). I'll be interested to test it with the VME adapter when it comes.
I understand you disagree with me. But I don't understand what you disagree with as I'm not aware of having stated an opinion!Hi Jono, I was going to use that very word, "redherring" but wasn't sure of the spelling. :ROTFL: We disagree but that is OK.
Possible explanation :Hi Cam
I've no idea why, but it seems that less pixels = less dynamic range (born out by the DxO marks) - so it would seem to be true what you're observing.
I reckon the A7ii has basically the same sensor as the RX1
