Q3 43 with a gray body will be a welcomed addition to the Q3 lineup especially with an APO lens.

Its a very interesting combo - somewhere between 35 and 50 the two most popular focal lengths - meaning it can do scenes and intimate portraits well.

Personally a fan of 28mm as it is the most widely useful IMHO, but 43 APO from Leica is very juicy.

I’m thinking the pair of them would be a nice travel kit. You get wide (I find the Q3 lens has an angle of view closer to 26mm) and normal, AF, close focus all in a compact package where you don’t have to change lenses. It’s an ubsurd amount of money for a travel kit but we are talking Leica here so that’s par for the course.

Leica holds value well and is an easy auction - you buy a Q3 for 6.5k use it for 2.5y and re-sell it for 4k and get the next-gen. Like with Apple Macbooks.

So the Q4 will have 100 MPX and then your upgrade price will be 2-2.5k. That's also a way to look at a Leica investment.

I think Leica may have found the ideal formula here. The reality is that most people gravitate towards a "favorite" lens which is on their camera all the time. Since most people are either "35ers" or "50ers" hitting the middle is brilliant.

Putting in AF, leaf shutter, EVF, OIS, macro, weather sealing and arguably the best optical quality available - APO from Leica - checks sooo many boxes for many that this camera may well be the absolute beststeller in Leica's portfolio and satisfy many photographer's needs for the ONE great tool they can take along anywhere.

The fixed lens limits you, yes, but then again it frees you because this is all you have to work with and that's liberating.

Over time you just fall in love with it, I suppose because you can take it anywhere and focus on brilliant photography.

Really great product. Imagine a fixed S4 with a 60mm lens or so.

Wonder if we'll see a Q3 43M ...

As for a Q3 43M I would not want one since the Q3 focusing system requires colors to determine best focus.

I have had Q2M models and found this to be a hindrance for people/street shooting and sold them for the color model.
