Made for Day Four of this challenge: Seven days, seven black and white photos of your life; no humans; no explanation.

For any guitar players or collectors you might be interested in the history of this guitar. It was made in 1913 by the Martin Guitar Company for Oliver Ditson stores. My model has a split Rosewood back, light spruce top, and "C.F. Martin, Nazareth, PA" stamped on the back of the head. I run scales every once in awhile on this guitar, but it lives in its case. When I do play, it is Ovations, a Paul McGill classical, or a Fender Strat if I want to make noise.

Darlene, I think your current challenge/project is a great thing. I really like the images you are coming up with, and I am envious of your processing skills. Can't wait to see more!

    Cool! I like your creativity!

The 1913 guitar is a wonderful reminder of both the longevity of music and the lasting functionality of an acoustic instrument. It is a perfect complement to photography!

Bill, I always look forward to your photos from your part of the world!
Much reminds me about the nature in the northern Sweden
I have just returned from a trip to the "True North" and I must admit that there is one obvious thing that really is different!
    And that is SCALE!

    All your mountains are higher!
So I suspect thar your region is of an younger geological period compered to northern Sweden?

But it all boils down to one thing from my side : Envy

Looking forward to see much more of your good work!

    Re: Fun with MF images

Thank you so much, Ray - I get much inspiration from your pictures and those of all our friends on the forum. You all challenge me to do better.

Yes, the Rockies are very young geologically, unlike the Laurentian Shield in Eastern Canada which comprises some of the oldest rock in the world. I have yet to visit Sweden (on my wish list!) but a Swede I worked with for many years told me the Shield was very like N. Sweden.

I hope to see for myself - meantime, thanks again for your kind comments. And if your envy brings you across the Atlantic - come and stay and we'll shoot together.

    Morning!

Despite really terrible weather recently, I managed a few glimpses of aurora, lots of fog and heavy cloud though so not great.

    Good morning, Mat,

You certainly live in a magical land with views like that in the sky above... it is gorgeous. You have a talent for catching the aurora, such a mysterious and beautiful sight to behold!

    Love the composition and colors!

    Morning!

We had a big storm yesterday, good strong winds blew all the crappy weather away which is nice! Went for a longer exposure to capture some of the movement and to smooth out the choppy water down at the river.

And later, we had beautiful low sun, still lots of wind too so took a couple of shots of my neighbours kid, I like this natural light, cold temperatures and a little windswept.

Love a good frost Matt, it's a shame as they are quite a rarity around my part of the UK, think we had a couple last year. Great images

    San Marco Square at dawn

Some say Venice is too touristy but it is very quiet and pleasant at early in the morning

    Kinya,

The smooth motion blur is beautiful and with the blue color contrast, it lends both a feeling of motion and depth. This is very well done, at least to my eyes... it draws me into the image to poke around.

    I find it most interesting.

    Re: Fun with MF images

    Evening

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

A couple from a nice walk this morning before the snow started to come down, pretty cold but quite sheltered in the forest.

I like this spot, the early sun just getting through in a couple of places..

Lots of these little intimate landscapes, some nice fungi catching some light below an old tree stump..

Nice to be out for a couple of hours for a wander about!
