Thank you friends...:salute:

Here I am in a village. Not one tourist in sight. In front are rice fields.
Left and right of me are the farmers' small huts. A cow shed. A poultry housing.

I sit down on the grass. There is cow dung around.

The farmers are curious to see me. More so than I them. I shake hands, say hello.
The women folk join in. There is about 15 of us.

I cannot, unfortunately, say more than ' hello' and ' thank you '.

A few minutes pass. Lovely people, lovely smiles.

A baby becomes interested in my camera and the strap. 5 months old. I pick her
Up and in my lap. She begins to play with the strap. Wanting to chew it.

The camera is an object of interest for her. I let her hold it in her small hands.

Where am I from? At last they know the region. Tea is brought forth. We move closer to each other. Now the infants are playing with my backpack. I offer tic tac
All around.

We don't speak the same. But we understand each other.

I want to leave as a friend. One they might not see again. Or I them.

For a brief time, language is not a barrier.

Hello Vietnam!

Enjoying my new 'lightweight' birding combo, a D500/300mm f4 PF

An immature Bald Eagle (in the wild) that let me get so close to it that I had to back up to focus

Thanks friends :salute:

Jorgen..indeed the essence of travel, as you said.

Stellar Rayyan! Is it still the 24-120 or? and of course the Df I presume. Such a picture make me dream of a Df as a second camera to the X-T2.
best Thorkil
Ps, carry on!

Hello Thorkil.

No it is with the 50/1.8. I just carried that lens with the Df.

You now Thorkil, the Fujis are stellar too.

Best regards to you and yours.

Hi Rayyan, yes I know (the stellar Fuji)(and the wonderful light-weight) but I just have to get used to the X-T2, viewfinder functions etc.
That 50/1.8 shines.
The Nikons are so familiar, and simple for me to use, and the Df looks very X-T2-like, and I like the Buttoms on the T2.
Best regards to you and Ayesha (I know it might be the wrong spelling, but searched, but could not find :) )

(Ps. Rayyan...Steen was friendly to point out the right spelling...so Ayesha's name is now corrected...what damage the damage in our elder growing-up brain can do...)...
