Bought a new lens, the Laowa 6mm f/2. It's manual focus, but have all the electronics of MFT lenses, so enlarges the view when I move the focus ring. Not super sharp, not even at f/4, but sharpens up very nicely with Topaz Sharpener, and it's super, super wiiiiide. I will mostly use it for yacht interiors, but no yachts available yesterday, so here's some nature instead.

GX8 with Laowa 6mm f/2 @ f/4

Hopefully the yacht interiors turn out okay, Jørgen.

G9 with Laowa 6mm f/2 @ f/2.8. Interestingly, this lens gives me sunstars already at f/2.8. For this kind of photography, that's a bonus. Makes old, tired yachts shine a bit more.

Wow, sunstars at f2.8. I'd never have thought a m43rds lens could do that as nicely as this has done. I'll have to check this lens out!

Is it possible to achieve better sharpness at the edges stopped down? I only ask because I have one final architectural shoot to do on a current project and I'd be interested in using this lens.

I can do some tests tomorrow (Monday) and post here. So far, I've only been using it at f/2 and 2.8.

Here's a photo that I took with the GX8 and the 6mm at f/5.6. Please be aware that the GX8 has a rather strong AA filter. Photos would have looked sharper, at least the unsharpened version, using the G9. I have not done any perspective correction here, to maintain the original corners of the photo.

These are 1200px versions. If anybody wants full size jpegs, please contact me with email address, and I'll send the full size files saved at PS quality 12.

No sharpening:

Very mild sharpening in Topaz AI Sharpener:
