These images are from my most recent F100 shooting with black and white films that I enjoy the most. It has been a great experience shooting, developing and processing hundreds of BE film images this past year and a half, using the F100, F80, FM2n, FE3, and two Nikkormat FTNs.
This week I started on a second roll of Kodak Vision3 250D cine film with the F100z I am looking forward to sending them off for developing although I will miss an important part of the genuine craft of photography… developing my own negatives.
This past 18 months, immersed in BW film, has been the most satisfying photographic experience ever. I do consider it to have been and continues to be an education and experience in learning a true craft, as opposed to sending film off to be developed and scanned. Or worse, shooting only “perfect” images with digital gear and instant gratification. For me, I love a curious mixture of film, digital, and a hybrid approach. While I need a modern mode of transportation for the daily grind in a major metropolitan area, nothing beats a tour in the mountains with a vintage British ragtop of choice…
Ahh, such is the wonderful world of photography in the times in which we live.
So many choices, and so many opportunities!
