New Hasselblad XCD 3,4/75P

You are right. I should have made my comments more clear regarding US customers vs the rest of the world. The US is poised for some pretty potential hefty price increases if Trump implements his tariff plans the way he says he will. This obviously does not reflect pricing for other customers outside the US the same way. For us in the US it will not be a great situation especially if the new lenses are manufactured in China.

I'm more interested in the X Extension tube than another lens, at the moment. Reading up on the Hasselblad website, it said something about firmware updates which inspired me to go through all of my 907x/CFVII 50c and lenses, update all the firmware on everything, etc. Now we'll see when they're actually available to purchase. ;)

They are/were both available for purchase.

Hmm. Well, I have tried to purchase one three times when the Hasselblad Store notified me they were in stock. Each time I was told, "Item out of stock." I guess some other folks are faster on the draw than I am. I'll be patient and wait for a bit.

I would say that xcd65 is one of the best lens in X line from an optical point of view, I don't think with 75p will be even close to it :)
Why is it you "don't think [the] 75p will be even close to" the XCD 65? I'm not sure what qualifies as "close" for you, but here are the data sheets for the XCD 65mm and the new XCD 75P as a start.

There's one from Fotodiox (11mm), seemingly in stock. I have one and cannot say anything negative about it. I would guess (and hope) that the Hasselblad one feels a little more premium.

So guys - I have ordered one - was able to trade in the 65. Reasons for me to change: new lens is significantly lighter, has internal focussing (hopefully faster) and I always liked the slightly longer than 50 equivalent lenses (1.4/58 from Nikon, the Contax 2/80 or the 70/2.5 for the Leica S). The maximal aperture of 3.4 is a little off-putting, but I think in the end it is half a stop of light gathering and due to the longer focal length the depth of field should be similar to the 65/2.8.

Which HB Dealer is trading in an old XCD lens for a new one?

Thanks! I may well go for both an 11 and a 20 mm, since both of them together would cost as much as the 9mm Hassy tube. As long as the mounting surfaces are parallel and the signals are passed properly, eh? not much else is important. It's not like I'm going to juggle extension tubes in the rain... ;)

I hadn't looked in a while, since I've been using mostly the V system lenses with V system extension tubes and the XV Adapter for close up work (or using them on the 500CM body with the CFVII 50c back fitted). A set of X system tubes gives me access to the in-lens shutters, not just the e-shutter, which is a plus.

Bummer. Being stuck in bed with Covid has its advantage, as long as I am awake at the right time to hear the message ping 🤣.

That’s the pair I use / 11 + 20mm.

I've seen that both bodies and lenses got a firmware update which explicitly talks about the added support for the X Extension Tube.
So, there must be something happening along the communication channel between the lens and the body.
Most probably only metadata, so hopefully there will be nothing so important to miss if we go for the 3rd party market.

Just guessing...

The Fotodiox ones work since a long time. I figure they just pass on the electronic signals.

Maybe the lens correction parameters applied in Phocus need to be different when the extender is there, who knows.
I wouldn't care much as well.

The 75/3.4 P lens is in stock at Hasselblad Store (NA) right now:
