X2D longer telephoto options for landscape

What are people with XCD bodies doing for longer telephoto, especially for landscape photography? I'm talking >200mm with the priority being optical quality, size and weight. In my last go around with the XCD system a few years ago, I did use the 135 with the TC which optically was ok but was a size and weight beast. What adapted lenses have people tried (AF, not fast aperture aren't priorities). The CF 180 is pretty good, any other options other than the 250 SA? Both are also 1kg lenses (without adaptors) so not much help in terms of size and weight.

Cool, the Mamiya ULD 300 and the 105-210 zoom are cheap enough that I'm just going to give them a try and see what it looks like. Both are also <900g, which while not exactly light is perhaps manageable. BTW I found these reviews useful:

You're motivating me to try my Leica Elmar-R 180/4 + 2x Extender-R on the 907x with the eshutter. I haven't tried that combo before, did some shooting with the Elmarit-R 135mm f/2.8 which worked well.

Okay: I did a few tests... The Elmar-R 180mm f/4 both alone and using the 2x Extender-R.

Unfortunately, the 2x Extender-R causes corner darkening/vignetting on full-format captures. Nearly any of the 907x crop modes eliminates it so it could be quite useful as a compact and lightweight lens for field work, but you're not going to use it full-frame. (I checked ... the 2x Extender-R does the same thing with the Elmarit-R 135mm f/2.8, so it's the extender that's the problem.) The Elmar-R 180/4 used without it is clean on the full frame right to the corners ...

So this is not a solution to the >200mm lens quest, but it is a nice light 180mm for when that's enough. :)

I use the P645 150 & 300 and the Zeiss SA 250 & 350. The Zeiss are better, but the P645 are so cheap and light (150) that one cannot go wrong with these. And did I mention that one can shift them quite a bit?

Only downside: no leaf shutter on the 907x.

Thanks Marco!

@Godfrey Looks like with the 2X the image is also very soft (even with these screen resolution photos) so that's probably a bigger deal breaker than the vignetting.

@bags27 With the 2X Mutar that actually looks pretty reasonable!

I have the Mamiya 105-210 and the 300 coming so I will test that out and post results here when they arrive.

In my opinion and experience, it depends on what sensor.

I found the 50MP sensor on the CFVII 50C a good bit less demanding of how good the glass is compared to the 102MP sensor on my X2D. So for when I need longer than my 180mm CFi with a 1.4XE on it, I use my new to me this year CFe 350mm 5.6 Superachromat. As far as weight, I figure it is digital medium format, it's not going to be light or compact for the most part.

Hopefully those Mamiya lenses work for you, but I want top shelf glass in front of that glorious 102MP sensor.

I make extensive use of the Pentax 67 300mm f4 EDIF lens and find it to be easily the equal of my glorious 102MP sensor (albeit it's a different flavour from yours!).
To add to the insanity, the Pentax 645 150-300/5.6 is pretty good and the 400/5.6 is very good. Lighter than the Zeiss 350/5.6 SA. I'd still carry the Mamiya 300 ULD most of the time, but there are a lot of good options out there.

X2D, Pentax 645 400/5.6 @f/11, ISO 6400, so some noise, crop, but not extreme.
